Speeding Ticket Docket, Edition Three

Legislators  in Missouri have pre-field another bill for the 2010 Legislative session that would ban the state from imposing a per-mile driving that many state and federal officials have turned toward during the current budget crisis.  The tax would cause an uproar but may be fiscally and environmentally sound.  This is a story to follow.

This headline struck fear in many Tiger’s hearts, “Tiller Suspended for Speeding Ticket” but it worked out fine as the Tigers pound UAPB.  Missouri Tiger basketball player J.T. Tiller was suspended for the game due to his arrest for an unpaid speeding ticket.

A new state law in Georgia adds $200 to your speeding ticket fine if you are going eight-five on a highway.   So the fine could be as much as $400 and you would still get the points on your record.   Many jurisdiction in Missouri add an extra fine if you are going in excess of twenty miles or more but there is no state law mandating it.

A speeding ticket airplane is landing down under for a holiday ticketing blitz.  Widely used, worldwide – this time, airborne speed camera equipment offers the additional capability of photographing license plates and automatically preparing citations for dropping in the mail.  The system will depend on pavement markings to estimate speed using a time-over distance method.
